Blackhawks Grizzly – Offered for Stud – UT 202 I
Owner Name
Mat Eveleth
Location
Davenport, IA
Kennel Description

Blackhawks Grizzly (PP-005791) is a result of a breeding between I-80’s Deuces Wild and our female Paladins Allison Rox.  Knowing how his mother “Alli” hunts I had a good feeling Grizzly was going to be something special and I was correct.

Grizzly has a brown medium dense coat with good furnishings.  He and his mother are 65lbs and with stamina for days.  During the hunting season, Grizzly spends no less than 4 days a week hunting upland, waterfowl from a boat or field blind.   I would consider Grizzly to be a medium ranging field dog who loves our Iowa waters no matter how cold.  He has a drive that is relentless when it comes to searching  downed game but a steadiness to hold until released.

Grizzly’s demeanor is one that does not require much pressure when training for hunting or obedience and yet he retains what he learns with little to no refreshing no matter how long it's been.  He has always wanted to please, responding well to verbal commands and hand signals.  We have always believed in keeping our dogs in the house with us, exposing them to social interactions with other dogs as well as people.  Therefore, having a good "off switch" is another trait we enjoy with both Alli and Grizzly.  I’m excited to see Grizzly’s offspring and have no doubt his bloodline will continue to produce something special.

About Trench

Trench is a big running dog that will hunt cover 500 yards either side while on the prairie, lock in at 60 yards and wait ten minutes until you get there. He will adjust his range accordingly while hunting pheasants in tall grass. Trench is extremely forgiving with willingness to please like no other. He has an excellent off switch and is a very mild mannered dog. Although training is a daily excuse to go play, he lives to hunt. Whether its lunging into an ice filled river for a goose retrieve or pointing multiple hens before a rooster is located, Trench is in his natural element. We hunt anywhere from 40-60 days a year which include: Ducks, Geese, Roughies, Sage and Sharpies, All brands of quail from Montana to Arizona. Pheasants as well. Trench treats all birds equal, they are prey, he loves his pigeons right off the back porch just the same as any mentioned above.

What can be said other than WOW!  He goes by many names El Duque, Dukeasaurus, The Beast, and The Magician.  Duke brings a tremendous work ethic to the duck blind and the field displaying determination and grit that seemingly makes birds appear.  Whether it’s hitting an area that another dog has covered and slamming on point or diving into icy waters to retrieve a downed goose or wing tipped duck that has landed in ten-foot tall Phragmite, Duke produces.

Over the last few years, we have hunted mostly wild birds with an occasional stocked pheasant hunt only when introducing new hunters to the game.  Duke's range in the grouse and woodcock woods is anywhere from 80 to 120ish yards.  He adapts to cover well and hits objectives throughout his search.  He will hold initial point forever and will indicate to you upon your approach whether the bird has moved on or not (you get the look like “way to go the bird walked off!”) after which he will relocate demonstrating a tremendous tracking ability.  Duke shines brightest after the shot displaying a tremendous ability to mark downed birds and will retrieve to hand every time.  I hunt a lot with other dogs who are usually intact males and have never had any issues.  The hunt becomes more of a team play in these scenarios.  Duke is a competitor and wants to be first to birds but also respects another dog’s point.  The duck blind is where Duke is in his glory.  He sees incoming birds before you do, and marks downed birds extremely well.  He is a steady dog so much so that he and I hunt out of a kayak together with no problems.  His relentless search for downed birds is an awesome experience to watch.  Duke has successfully tracked multiple deer for bow hunters and has even retrieved a dead buck that died in a lake.

Duke is a highly intelligent dog who was a breeze to train.  Once a concept was understood the lessons taught to him stuck with little if any reinforcement.  He has a tremendous ability to take training and apply it to different scenarios in the field that he may not have encountered in the past.  Duke is extremely tuned into the family and seemingly understands what you are saying to him.

On the flip side of all the field work and in my opinion, most importantly, Duke is a gentle dog with an old soul.  He is happy in the home playing in the yard with my children and occasionally sharing a peanut butter and jelly sandwich with my son.  If he could climb in your pocket, he would.  He is everyone’s friend including other dogs and greets everyone with the same friendly welcome.  He is a great member of the family!

Lone Pine’s In the Blind – Offered for Stud – UT 193 Prize 1
Owner Name
Michael & Alycia Baird
Location
McKinleyville, CA
Kennel Description

We have our first stud dog!  And he truly is the bestest boy!  There is so much to say about Odin it's hard to know where to begin.  As a pup he was the most laid-back guy, content to sniff the flowers and take lots of naps in the grass.  When it came time to pick a pup, we enlisted the help of our trusted veterinarian and she helped us select both Odin and his sister Ember, not only for their demeanor at 8 weeks old but also their confirmation and confidence.  As a 6 month old pup with very little formal training, on his first pheasant trip to Iowa, Odin learned quickly and produced several birds.  In one particular instance, he had a rooster pinned but Mike wasn't yet confident in the little guy.  Another great lesson in "trust your dog" ensued.  Unfortunately the bird got away, but we knew there was something special about this pup.

If Odin had a motto, it would be there every day is a new day and it's going to be the greatest day ever.  This dog VIBRATES with exuberant energy in the mornings and makes me smile on event the toughest days.  His temperament is second to none.  He has been barked at, pawed, postured against and a number of other behavioral situations with both male and female dogs and naturally handles himself with maturity and grace.  He knows when to walk away and when to stand his ground.  It's one of my favorite qualities about him.  He is always ready to work and cooperative in training.

His confirmation is beautiful and his structure fits the breed standard almost perfectly.  His head is broad with a pronounced stop and a balanced muzzle.  His eyes are soft and expressive.  His topline is straight and strong, thought slightly long.  He has a broad deep chest and is bigger boned and stockier.  He stands 25 inches at the shoulder and weighs a muscular 72 pounds.  His coat is tight and coarse with good coverage on his chest and belly.

In the field he runs BIG!  His points are staunch and intense and he loves to retrieve.  We recently put on 11 miles in one day on a chukar hunt and he maintained his endurance through the whole hike.  He picks things up quickly and loves to hunt.  This season he will get his first duck hunting experience and we're confident he'll do well.  He enters the water with enthusiasm and swims hard.

Odin also comes from excellent stock.  His sire, VC Ripsnorter's Slate is a 2 time UT Prize 1 stud who became a Versatile Champion at the invitational in 2023 and is one of the 2 dogs that earned Ripsnorter Kennel the first ever Pudelpointer Invitational Breeder's Award.  Slate's is out of, Audax Agnar Vom Oberland (UT Prize 1), and Dam, Ripsnorter's Hallelujah, aka "Glory" (NA 112 Prize 1), Ripsnorter Kennel's top producing dam with 3 NA, 1 UT and 1 IT Breeder's Awards.

Audax's progeny scores for NA average 105.6.  The average for UT is 186.3.  Glory's progeny scores for NA average 107.5.  The average for UT is 197.3.  Clearly, Slate comes from top producing parents.

Odin's Dam, Evony's progeny scores for NA have averaged 105.1.  She has strong water drive and is a big runner in the field.

He earned is Utility Prize 1 this past summer and will be heading to the Invitational in New Mexico in 2026.

We are so excited to add Odin to the Lone Pine kennel and see what he produces.

Packmaster Gundogs
Owner Name
Joseph Bozelak
Location
Rockford, MI
Kennel Name
Kennel Description

Packmaster Gundogs is a family run program. All members of the household work together to socialize, train, hunt, and love on our pack; from Melissa the matriarch and master puppy whelper to Axel, our youngest of 5 children, the master of doggie dinner time and cuddles.

We are very passionate about (maybe even a little addicted to) the Pudelpointer breed and want to ensure the breed is kept in the homes of hunters, health is maintained, and the breed standard is preserved while sharing this wonderful breed with hunters across the country.

We aim to produce exceptional dogs that possess the cooperation levels and impulse control that make training by the average person easier. Health and a balanced, confident, and friendly temperament in conjunction with appropriate structural build and coat characteristics fitting the breed standard are paramount for us.

Performance wise, we aim to produce dogs with a strong natural retrieve drive, love of water, mid range search at medium pace to maintain performance for extended hunts.

We believe the world doesn't just need more Pudelpointers, it needs better ones, so we put a great amount of effort carefully selecting the perfect pairings that we think will both produce the type of dogs mentioned above and improve our line with each successive generation produced.

The Packmaster Difference:

Our dogs live and sleep in our home, not in a separate kennel building. Often times they can be found on our couch or sleeping in our kids' beds.

We use statistical analysis of hunt test results (German, VHDF, and NAVHDA), in person evaluation, and word of mouth from trusted sources to choose our pairings. We have created a 14,000+ dog global pudelpointer database and coded a proprietary software to help us select pairings and track our progress towards our goals.

We travel all over the US to attend NAVHDA tests and NAPS gatherings to watch pups we have produced, evaluate potential breeding prospects, and network with other breeders and owners.

We see the NAPS breeding requirements as a minimum standard and aim to far exceed them by testing our breeding stock to the highest level possible with the goal of proving their high end capabilities in the NAVHDA Invitational.

We train, test, and hunt our own dogs so we are intimately familiar with both their strengths and their deficiencies. Our dogs enjoy hunting trips in the northern Michigan grouse woods, southern Michigan wild pheasant fields, duck hunts on beaver ponds, lakes, streams, and marshes throughout the state, in addition to an occasional game farm. We have plans to begin exploring some out of state hunts to the prairies, mountains, and desert valleys to continue to evaluate their adaptability to differing terrain and species.

To ensure our breeding stock are passing on healthy traits, they are all genetically tested via Embark, screened for hip dysplasia through PennHip, and regularly evaluated by our reproductive veterinarian.

Puppy Buyer Info:

We screen buyers through an extensive application process then interview them through a phone or video call to discuss their expectations and to fully qualify them and determine if we have the correct pup for them. We don't keep a wait list or take deposits as we try to ensure we match the correct pup to the best possible home and hunting activity. We don't want money to become a factor so if you aren't happy with the puppy we selected for you on pickup day, we understand. There is no obligation nor hard feelings since in the end we want what's best for the pup. We won't produce a litter of pups that we aren't willing to keep ourselves. Just ask Melissa, she's always the one telling me "No, we can't keep another one"!

We hope and expect to be interviewed just as deeply to ensure a good fit and a lifelong trusting relationship is established, so ask away!

We treat our buyers as part of our family and try to stay in touch to support training or go hunting together.

What you get when you are selected to buy a Packmaster Pudelpointer:

Each puppy will go home having been developed using early neurological stimulation (AKA Superdog Training), early scent detection training to many different species of game, sound desensitization to at least a 209 primer gun, introduction to crate training and car rides, introduction to potty training, beginner clicker training to a number of different behaviors, microchipped, Embark DNA tested, vaccinated, dewormed, and registered with NAVHDA.

Puppies are taken on adventure walks daily through woods, thickets, fields of varying height and density, across streams, etc. Water exposure is guaranteed, but the form whether liquid or ice is dependent on time of year.

We begin puppy bite inhibition very early and many of our past buyers say despite their pups love for socks, underwear or shoes, they did not experience the puppy nipping that is all too common. Pups leave very well socialized by our family of 7, our friends, extended family, and pack of dogs.

We also provide all new puppy buyers with a complimentary NAPS membership, a 1 year individual NAVHDA international membership, 1 month of free Trupanion pet insurance and a comprehensive training and information guide as well as our personal support.

Our puppies are sold via a comprehensive contract that lays out the expectations for both parties.. The contract includes the requirements necessary to have the "breeding restrictions" lifted from the pup's NAVHDA registration at no charge. It also outlines our 2 year health guaranteed and the requirements necessary to qualify it to be extended to 5 years.
Lastly, Packmaster Gundogs has a NAVHDA testing loyalty program that is unmatched anywhere. Buyers have the ability to earn money off of a purchase of a future puppy dependent on the level of success obtained via NAVHDA testing their pup. Rewards extend up to and include a FREE puppy if the buyer earns a VC title.

Our History:

We got our first versatile dog in 2006, a GSP (Top Gun's Perfect Storm), joined the local NAVHDA group and began training for her NA. While training for her NA a guy in the group had a pudelpointer pup that was the same age and we fell in love with the breed. Fast forward 11 years later to 2017 Storm abruptly passed away in July from the rupture of a pancreatic tumor. We were blessed to get into a breeding from Ripsnorter's kennel shortly after and that October Frannie (Ripsnorter's Sent From Heaven) filled the gaping hole in our hearts and family. She turned out to be everything we had hoped for and more.

Phin's story:
Phin was from our very first litter that we intended on keeping a female from...little did we know that mother nature felt like giving us 5 males instead.  Phin was always the puppy that looked up at us when we approached the whelping box, always offering consistent eye contact.  Melissa knew he was something special from the start and convinced me to keep him and I'm glad she did.  He is the best of both of his parents with an exceptional temperament, friendly demeanor, and elite level field performance, and incredible motivation to please.  He's an incredible ambassador for the breed and wins over the hearts of everyone that meets him.
In the field Phin demonstrates his incredible nose with naturally staunch points from great distances.  He's been the best grouse dog I have ever had with how cautious and carefully he handles birds.  Both in the duck blind and the field his deep passion for retrieving, that came naturally, makes hunting with him a dream. Contact us if you are interested in using Phin for your breeding program.

Scout is my first versatile dog and the first dog that I have ran in any testing. Scout is biddable, cooperative and was easy to train and quick to learn. He is very smart and retains what he learns and doesn’t seem to forget much when shown the proper way. He enjoys being around his friends and will want to play with other dogs of all sizes when allowed. He definitely wants to go, go, go, but when in the house he is ready to be in your lap or laying on a chair or couch.

Scout is a machine when it comes to field hunting. He loves to run and in large fields will make cast out to 200 or so yards. He typically starts with a far cast and gradually starts to hunt in closer as the hunt goes on. If he finds a bird while on a large cast, he will be waiting for you there. In his UT test and at the Invitational he was out of sight on a point for a while until we got up to him. For my first pointing dog it is odd to me as I was used to a flushing dog right out in front of me, but I have numerous judges, gunners and training partners that love his range. I’ve learned that it is ok and to trust the dog. He does not let me down and is honest on his birds. I typically tell the clients when I guide at a local preserve don’t be scared when they see him run out 200 yards like a rocket. Even if it takes us three minutes to walk to him, he isn’t going to take the bird out.

Scout has been hunted at several local preserves for pheasant and chukar and also does some guiding for pheasant, chukar and the occasional quail at one of the preserves. We hunt pheasant, woodcock and grouse on the gamelands and other private properties. When hunting for woodcock and grouse Scout will adjust his range for the job at hand.

Scout has retrieved numerous species of waterfowl to include puddle ducks, diving ducks, sea ducks and geese. He hunts mainly on the Susquehanna River as well as the Chesapeake Bay along with occasional pond hunts. He has made multiple mark retrieves in these locations and the cold January air and water temperatures do not phase him. He has hunted around ice on the river and bay and never hesitates when asked to make a retrieve. The only thing he probably can’t do that my 100 lb. Chesapeake Bay Retriever could do was to break through thicker ice.

Scout’s sire, Pine Ridge's Jazzy Rigel is a sire with 7 Sire of Breeder's Award for NA. On his dam side he has VC Fin Renard Donna Kenya (grandparent) and VC Bella Vom Graven Stein (great grandparent). I’ve been told by numerous people that Scout has the looks and the pedigree to pass on good traits and to help improve the breed.

About Lorax

Lorax is an even-tempered and efficient hunter. His best traits are his cooperation and trainability. Lorax has proven his hunting ability with furred and feathered game to include quail, duck, woodcock, squirrel, rabbit, dove, and white-tailed deer. He achieved his UT prize 2 at the young age of 2 years old with a first-time trainer. Lorax is a medium ranging dog with the determination, drive, and endurance to do long hunts. He is also a perfect family companion, able to connect with people, is gentle with children, and displays high emotional intelligence. Lorax has been a family dog since day 1 and we can’t imagine living without him. I am more than excited to watch Lorax’s bloodline continue and make Pudelpointers the best versatile breed they can be.

Websters definition of Ripsnorter is "One that is remarkable for strength, intensity, and/or excellence". Jeff George has been a proud breeder of Pudelpointers since 2007, and has even more experience with other breeds before this. While he used to raise specifically German Wirehaired Pointers under the Ripsnorter prefix, he branched out to the more versatile side of them and fell in love with his first Pudelpointer, Okra.

Jeff has tested many dogs in NAVHDA through the years in the Natural Ability, Utility, and Versatile Champion test, many receiving Prize I ranking scores. He has brought his love for hunting to his grandchildren as well, who have both tested dogs in NAVHDA, and his grandaughter, Hadley, is now helping to take over the legacy of Ripsnorter Kennel. They will be introduced to birds and water (weather permitting) at 6 weeks. At 7-8 weeks we start placing them in crates and begin the potty-training process. We start the deworming process at 2 weeks and at around 8 weeks will have a health check by our vet and their first round of vaccinations before we send them home. We will also have the puppies registered with NAVHDA and the buyer will receive the pup’s pedigree in the mail. The buyers will get a puppy packet that includes a vaccination schedule, feeding information, Smokn’ Creek swag. A year’s membership with NAPS and NAVHDA will be included in the packet. We will do our best to expose the pups to many different things throughout their first 8 weeks with a goal to have a healthy confident pup when they are ready to go home.

Cleo has shown promising signs so far. Her desire, drive and biddability is like her sire (Bear). She is the first pup that I have seen that didn’t have to do the tracking section in the NA test because she showed the judges her ability to track in the field when she tracked 3 quail 40 yards and then went on point. Kennel Description
Meet Magic:
Twin Creeks Hunter: Magic is the culmination of years of work by Bodo and his Winterhels lines. He very much has that "It" factor that is hard to describe he is an incredibly intelligent animal. He is very easy to train in fact one of the fastest maturing males, I have had the pleasure to be around. He has been successful in every venue and as a wild bird hunter.
In his first NAVHDA UT test he scored a prize 1 198 at 19mos old!! The following year he went to the Invitational scoring 189 out of 200 despite still not being 3yrs old!
In his first ever NSTRA weekend trial he was 1st Amateur for the weekend! Since then he has accumulated 11 amateur points and 4 championship points in only 4 trials!
He has been ran in HRC and although he does not have a seasoned title yet as it takes 3 passes he is on his way.
Due to his intelligence he is an extremely savvy bird hunter. He has found and retrieved 10 different species of wild birds in 9 states. He has an uncanny ability to put the pieces together so much faster than every other dog we hunt with. He has the right combination of smarts and confidence to range appropriately to the terrain, which contributes to his ability to locate birds. You will see him push 400yds plus in the wide open chukar hills then the next day he can be my guide dog on a preserve and stay within 50yds the whole day.
He is an absolute pleasure in the duck blind. Triples and 100yd plus blinds are in his skillset. And thanks to his size and efficiency hunting in the river even when very cold is not an issue.
He has always been an extremely obedient dog who is very much a team player and very simple to train. Which shows in his adaptability and how young he accomplished very high achievements. He does not ever lose control or "spin out". While hunting in any venue he is not vocal in any way no whining barking etc. But he will certainly talk to you in the house. He has always been a very steady dog even as a young puppy he allowed me to flush birds for him. He to this day has never killed a bird not in the field on the force fetch table etc. The bird comes back to you exactly as he found it. To train for his duck search I bought 4 ducks. I ended up giving away 2 and the next year I still had his 2 as pets!!
Magic is absolutely a wonderful specimen of some very unique lines and genetics. He has been tested as a FF for furnishings which means all of his offspring will have furnishings. He has very tight hips (tested penn hip at 16mos). He stands 24" at the shoulders. Generally he weighs 60-65lbs. He has a beautifully long gait that makes his running look effortless. If you are looking for a little bit of MAGIC for your lines he is just the dog for you.

About Tucker

Tucker has shown to be a natural hunting dog from a very young age.  His first retrieve of a wild animal was a live wild piglet he caught while tagging along with me and my other dogs on a duck scouting trip.  Tucker brought this fully intact pig to me from out of the blue, I have a video of it.

Tucker is an enthusiastic hunter and quick learner during training sessions.  His retention of trained scenarios is very impressive.  Tucker earned a NAVHDA Natural Ability max score 112 at 7 months old and his Utility Test max score 204 at 21 months old.  Tucker also has two HRC started passes and a HRC seasoned pass, my friend handled him for one of those while I attended a family member's funeral.  Tucker has been trained by me with help from my close training friends, we are all amateurs at best.

In the home he is a gentle family member, friendly to all other people and dogs. Tucker is a relentless duck searcher on wild duck hunts and during hunt tests. He has very keen marking ability also.  Upland hunting is very much in his wheelhouse.  So far, he has hunted wild pheasants, quail, prairie chickens, sharptail grouse, and woodcock successfully in his young career with plans for more hunts this coming fall.

Tucker comes from very strong genetic backgrounds.  He shares the lines of some of the most respected Ripsnorter and Oxbow kennel produced pudelpointers.  The sky is the limit for this young pudelpointer.  Tucker earned the title of Versatile Champion at the 2025 NAVHDA Invitational Test. At the age of 3 years and 2 months he was the youngest Pudelpointer to earn the coveted title of VC during the 2025 test.  I hope to continue to strengthen the pudelpointer genetic lines with puppies out of Tucker.

Exceptional Trainability and Achievements: Noonan is one of the most trainable dogs I have ever encountered. His high hunter IQ, coupled with an unmatched drive and biddability, makes him a standout performer. Field Excellence: In the field, Noonan is a hard-charging dog who excels at finding and pinning down wild birds. His versatility allows him to adjust his range based on terrain and game, whether it’s stretching out beyond 250 yards for chukar and Hungarian partridge or staying within 100-150 yards in tight pheasant cover. He has proven himself on a wide variety of game, including:

  • Ruffed Grouse
  • Pheasants
  • Hungarian Partridge
  • Chukar
  • Sharp-Tailed Grouse
  • Valley Quail
  • Prairie Chickens
  • Sage Grouse
  • Woodcock
  • Numerous waterfowl species

Noonan’s natural backing instincts and steadiness to wing, shot, and fall make him a pleasure to hunt behind. Witnessing him point birds or back other dogs from over 100 yards away is a true gift.

Water Work Mastery: Noonan’s water work is nothing short of exceptional. He is a relentless cripple-bird finder and will search tirelessly for fallen game, sometimes for over 30 minutes if needed. He handles blind retrieves at distances exceeding 100 yards with ease, showcasing his precision and determination. Watching him in the water is both inspiring and entertaining.
