“On Point Pudelpointers origin story begins with Sigbot “Bodo” Winterhelt as the first Pudelpointer the Skelton family received was bred and trained by Bodo. Javoule (Yah-Vool), one of Bodo's last litters was truly a versatile hunting dog that set such a precedent that the breed has now been part of the Skelton household for well over two decades. Javoule's outstanding natural working abilities in combination with intelligence, love for water, retrieving instinct, easy trainability and willingness to please was unwavering and precursory to their mainstay in the Skelton family.

As one of the finest performers in field tests, the Pudelpointer in its home country Germany has long been esteemed by those who enjoy and value dogs with strong desire and drive. These traits in concert with a sharp nose, birdiness, pointing instinct, and endurance help make the Pudelpointer one of the more worthy versatile hunting dogs both near and abroad. As their reputed protective nature would suggest, On Point Pudelpointers produces outstanding family dogs with working traits that meet high standards both a field and at home. Their loving nature and drive to be a warm and glowing member of the family is arguably their most favored trait!”

When you get a pup from On Point you will get a health certificate from our vet that also shows comparison between other siblings of the breeding. I also provide a buyback program if the buyer is not pleased with their dog within the first two years. If puppies are old enough and weather permits, they will have exposure to water.

LCM's Merit (PCNA PSB No. 1332) and Epic Vom Hundehaus (VPP 15702)

We are proud to announce that Merit, highly esteemed in her PCNA field accomplishments successfully whelped 4 male and 4 female puppies that will be ready for homes the 3rd week in June!

Both Merit and Epic meet the highest of standards set by their clubs, Pudelpointer Club of North America and the Verien Pudelpointer Club, respectively. As such, Merit in her first breeding in 2021 with another stud dog, produced three dogs from that litter that passed PCNA’s natural ability exam (NAE) in combination with the breed improvement test (BIT). This is likely an attribution to a strong lineage and genetic line curation by both clubs with additional German genetic influence. Merits paternal father was from Germany, Falko von der Hüvener Mühle!

Bodo Winterhelt’s lineage lives on in this breeding as only a single generation separates his line from On Point’s. The likelihood of a strong performing litter in the field in lieu of careful selection both past and present should wield exceptional dogs for both home and field. Merit has OFA hips GOOD and elbows NORMAL.  Her PCNA Breed Improvement test results were 139 (Pass) with scores of 11 in 10 of 13 test areas.

Epic's HZP test results were 187 with scores of 10 & 11 in all tested areas.

Epic's German Hip Evaluations were B1 (roughly equivalent to OFA Good)
