Blackhawks Grizzly – Offered for Stud – UT 202 I
Owner Name
Mat Eveleth
Location
Davenport, IA
Kennel Description

Blackhawks Grizzly (PP-005791) is a result of a breeding between I-80’s Deuces Wild and our female Paladins Allison Rox.  Knowing how his mother “Alli” hunts I had a good feeling Grizzly was going to be something special and I was correct.

Grizzly has a brown medium dense coat with good furnishings.  He and his mother are 65lbs and with stamina for days.  During the hunting season, Grizzly spends no less than 4 days a week hunting upland, waterfowl from a boat or field blind.   I would consider Grizzly to be a medium ranging field dog who loves our Iowa waters no matter how cold.  He has a drive that is relentless when it comes to searching  downed game but a steadiness to hold until released.

Grizzly’s demeanor is one that does not require much pressure when training for hunting or obedience and yet he retains what he learns with little to no refreshing no matter how long it's been.  He has always wanted to please, responding well to verbal commands and hand signals.  We have always believed in keeping our dogs in the house with us, exposing them to social interactions with other dogs as well as people.  Therefore, having a good "off switch" is another trait we enjoy with both Alli and Grizzly.  I’m excited to see Grizzly’s offspring and have no doubt his bloodline will continue to produce something special.

Kennel Description
Brush Cruiser Gundogs is located in beautiful Eastern Idaho. Downriver Pennie joined our family in March 2022 and we couldn't be happier with the amazing hunter she is.  She has amazing drive, natural hunting instincts and learns very quickly. As a family with 4 young kids we have prioritized outdoor adventure, and love to share bird hunting with others. Our kids enjoy minimal screentime, in a world that seems to be going the other way, and have learned to love hunting with Pennie. Her natural instincts have made the sport even more enjoyable and we are looking forward to her puppies bringing other families the same opportunities and to get more kids outside!
Pennie received a score of 112 on her Natural Ability Test, and one of the judges said she'd want to go hunting with Pennie.
We are planning a Summer 2024 litter for Pennie. Please contact us if you would like to be considered for our list.

About Trench

Trench's inherited ability and biddability has made it possible for a first time trainer to reach UT pz1 title at 17 mos. Trench is extremely forgiving with willingness to please like no other. He is very well socialized and shows no signs of aggression towards people, children or other dogs. Although training is a daily excuse to go play, he lives to hunt. Whether its lunging into an ice filled river for a goose retrieve or pointing multiple hens before a rooster is located, Trench is in his natural element. We hunt anywhere from 40-60 days a year which include: Ducks, Geese, Roughies, Sage and Sharpies, All brands of quail from Montana to Arizona. Pheasants as well. Trench treats all birds equal, they are prey, he loves his pigeons right off the back porch just the same as any mentioned above.

About Us
High Winds Pudelpointers owned by Steve and Melinda Pore

We purchased our first Pudelpointer Skye in February 2020 and quickly fell in love with the Pudelpointer breed so much so that we started a search for our second Pudelpointer. We were fortunate enough to get Rosie (Pioneer Ginger Rose ) September 2021 from Pioneer Pudelpointers.

We are not a large breeder with multiple litters each year, we breed our female to produce quality family dogs that will excel in the field as well as in the water and live in your home with you as a family member, friend and companion. We hunt with our Pudelpointers and live with them in our home, and they adore our grandchildren.

Kennel Description

We are a family run kennel based in the Loess Hills in southwest Iowa. We have owned pudelpointers since the early 2000s and started our own breeding program ten years ago. We work hard to ensure that you receive the highest possible quality pudelpointer. We are always keenly aware that the bloodlines of these dogs are credited to those who have intentionally bred and maintained the integrity of these dogs. In 2019 we imported a male from the Czech Republic to enhance the genetics at our kennel. To those who have strived to maintain the integrity of the breed before us, we say thank you!

Our goal is to produce true versatile hunting dogs that thrive hunting for upland game as well as waterfowl, while continuing to be a great member of the family. We love to hunt almost as much as we love our dogs. We have three young kids that help us raise the puppies, bringing them up in a family environment. Our last three breedings have resulted in natural ability breeder’s awards, a tribute to the great puppy owners we have and the quality breedings. We encourage all puppy owners to join North American Hunting Dog Association (NAVHDA) and test their pups, we truly appreciate the hard work puppy owners do to test their pups in the NAVHDA natural ability.

When you get a pup from us, they will be registered with NAVHDA which will include a breeding restriction clause by the breeder, a one-year health guarantee that covers congenital health defects, and they will have received their first round of vaccinations and wormer. The pups will be socialized and have interactions with the other dogs in our kennel. We will introduce the pups to water, gunfire, and birds. We do not ship puppies.

Kennel Description

We bought our first Pudelpointer, Callie, in 2010.  Thanks to that fuzzy, energetic, and always happy pup we have embraced the breed and thoroughly enjoy sharing the joys of the Pudelpointer with other families.  We have been breeding Pudelpointers since 2013 and are currently located in Virginia.  In our 19 years of breeding experience we have developed our line to preserve the characteristics and quality of this breed that we love so much.  Our foremost goal is to provide dogs who are outstanding in the field and at home for hunters and their families.  We work to pair dogs that will produce healthy, amenable, and cooperative pups that will have phenomenal performance in the field while also being calm and gentle in the house.

If you are interested in a Lone Pine pup, head over to our website where you will find all of the information on our dogs.  You can find more photos of our pups on our Facebook page.

Our current breeding dogs are as follows:

Lone Pine's Commanding Presence aka "Cadi" PP-005232

 Natural Ability 110 Prize 1

PennHip: Right .25; Left .21

Furnishings DNA: FF

Sire: Cedarwoods Feisty Hector (NA 112 Prize 1; UT 204 Prize 1); Dam: Cedarwoods Zayda Volante (NA 112 Prize 1)

In Cadi's first litter with Stone Pine's Bodo 2 of 8 pups tested in NAVHDA Natural Ability,  One pup earned a 112 Prize one and one pup earned a 92 Prize 2.

Cadi has only had one litter so far and her pups consistently have a very high level of drive and an excellent nose.  Despite the high drive, their family's report a great temperament and willingness to please.  We are looking forward to seeing them develop and will likely do a repeat breeding in the future and keep a pup for our own kennel.

Ripsnorter's Double Dog Dare  "Stella"  PP-006617

 Natural Ability 112 Prize 1

PennHip: Right .20; Left .21

Furnishings DNA: FF

Sire: Fin Renard Carbon Felix (NA 112 Prize 1; UT 204 Prize 1; UT 152 No Pass); Dam: Ripsnorter's Rewind (NA 112 Prize 1)

Stella is super fun to train and does everything with "flare".  She is always ready to learn something new and attacks everything with enthusiasm.  She has a stylish point and is doing great at learning how wild birds work.  I anticipate rock solid points and consistent retrieves to hand as Stella has proven to be one of the most naturally cooperative pups I've ever worked with.  We are very excited to see how her first litter of pups performs in Natural Ability this spring.

A Little About Our Kennel:

We like to have a lot of conversations and get to know people who are interested in our pups and we reserve the right to refuse sale to anyone we deem to be an inappropriate match for our pups.  It is extremely important to us that our pups go to good, loving  homes and we do our best to help our buyers select the right pup for their families and hunting activities.  So when you contact us, please tell us a little about yourself, and what you're looking for in your next hunting companion and family member.  Feel free to ask us detailed questions about our kennel, our dogs and the breed in general.  We truly enjoy the process of helping people find the right pudelpointer puppy for their family.

In addition to the NAPS breeding requirements, we train and handle all of our dogs in their NA Tests.  So far, they have all earned a Prize 1.  We also train an handle our dogs in their Utility tests.  This allows us to better assess their natural level of cooperation and their ability to handle pressure.  It also allows us to help our buyers going through the testing process if they need guidance.

We want to make sure we are contributing to the overall health of the pudelpointer breed as well as the performance.  Starting in 2022, in addition to x-ray evaluations for hip dysplasia, we will begin having our upcoming breeding females OFA certified for healthy elbows as well.  Additionally, in 2021 we ordered a full Embark DNA panel on our breeding females and will continue to do so in the future.  We will also have full Embark DNA panels on all puppies produced by our kennel in order to develop a solid DNA history of our line.

We take our stud selection process very seriously.  When seeking a stud for our girls, we usually start looking about 6 months before we expect the breeding to happen.  We spend hours looking at pedigrees, talking to their owners and talking others who have used the studs we are interested in.  We also inquire about the health information on the stud and the stud's progeny.  We look at past pairings to females with similar pedigrees to ours to see how their progeny have performed and if any health issues stand out.  We purchased our own personal copy of the Breedmate program so that we can check the breeding coefficient of each pairing we are considering.  Temperament is one of our biggest considerations when selecting a stud.  We also do not select any stud with a PennHip of more than .5 or an OFA score less than Good.

We sell our pups registered as "breed restricted" which means that if you breed your pup while the restriction is in place, you will not be able to register any pups from the litter.  In order to lift the restriction on a pup for breeding, we require that you adhere to and complete the requirements set forth by the North American Pudelpointer Society.  We require this because we feel that it is an important step in protecting our pups as well as maintaining the quality and integrity of future litters produced.  Once our buyers meet the requirements, we gladly lift the restriction free of charge.

We prefer not to ship puppies to their new homes.  Over the years, we have come to feel that it is too much of a risk and we would prefer our buyers to pick their puppies up in person.  In fact, the cost to fly out to pick up a pup is generally less expensive than shipping a pup these days.

Regardless of your selection of breeder we encourage everyone going through the search for a puppy to read the NAPS Puppy Buyers Guide.  It is full of great advice for anyone navigating through the process of buying a pudelpointer.

What you get when you get a pup from us

We take great pride in making our pups family dogs from an early age.  Our litters are whelped in our living room under constant supervision and live there for their first 4 to 6 weeks.  We sleep on the couch in the same room with the mom and pups through the first 3 to 4 days so we can be alerted if anything major happens.  We handle the pups a few times a day to start and we gradually increase handling them as they get older.  We play with their feet, lay them on their backs, mess with their mouths and just generally get them used to all sorts of interaction with us.  When they get to about 2 to 3 weeks old we start allowing trusted friends and family to begin interacting with them as well.

We deworm our pups every two weeks starting when they are two weeks old.  Their first solid food is around the 4 week mark, which is generally when they go outside for the first time as well.  They get their first set of vaccinations when they are as close to 8 weeks old as we can get, depending on when they are going to home with their new families.

At 5 or 6 weeks we start to introduce the wing to develop their pointing instinct and tossing small toys for them to chase and "retrieve".  We make it all fun and exciting for them.  Once we've played the wing game a few times we discontinue that and start getting out the real birds, using frozen birds at first to let them smell and chew a little and even carry around.  Then we move on to live birds that are not able to flap around too much.  We bring them into the scent cone individually to see each pups attitude toward the birds.  Many will be a little stand-offish at first but there are always those brave few who charge right in, pick up the bird and pack it around.  Once they show confidence with live birds that don't fly, we fly birds around them to enhance their natural prey drive and make it very exciting for them.  At 7 weeks we start getting them in the water  and we may even get a few swimmers before 8 weeks.  We do not pressure our pups in any way at this young age but make things fun and exciting and do what we can to develop their confidence and attachment to people.

Your pup will come to you already micro-chipped and registered with NAVHDA.  We also provide a complimentary 1 year membership to the North American Pudelpointer Society and one month of puppy insurance through Trupanion.  Additionally, we will provide you with your pups' personal Embark DNA panel results.

The main goal for Calvin's breeding program is to develop a healthy, quality line of Pudelpointers that represents the best of the breed.

Packmaster Gundogs

Kennel Description

Packmaster Gundogs is a family run program. All members of the household work together to socialize, train, hunt, and love on our pack; from Melissa the matriarch and master puppy whelper to Axel, our youngest of 5 children, the master of doggie dinner time and cuddles.

We are very passionate about (maybe even a little addicted to) the Pudelpointer breed and want to ensure the breed is kept in the homes of hunters, health is maintained, and the breed standard is preserved while sharing this wonderful breed with hunters across the country.

We aim to produce exceptional dogs that possess the cooperation levels and impulse control that make training by the average person easier. Health and a balanced, confident, and friendly temperament in conjunction with appropriate structural build and coat characteristics fitting the breed standard are paramount for us.

Performance wise, we aim to produce dogs with a strong natural retrieve drive, love of water, mid range search at medium pace to maintain performance for extended hunts.

We believe the world doesn't just need more Pudelpointers, it needs better ones, so we put a great amount of effort carefully selecting the perfect pairings that we think will both produce the type of dogs mentioned above and improve our line with each successive generation produced.

The Packmaster Difference:

Our dogs live and sleep in our home, not in a separate kennel building. Often times they can be found on our couch or sleeping in our kids' beds.

We use statistical analysis of hunt test results (German, VHDF, and NAVHDA), in person evaluation, and word of mouth from trusted sources to choose our pairings. We have created a 14,000+ dog global pudelpointer database and coded a proprietary software to help us select pairings and track our progress towards our goals.

We travel all over the US to attend NAVHDA tests and NAPS gatherings to watch pups we have produced, evaluate potential breeding prospects, and network with other breeders and owners.

We see the NAPS breeding requirements as a minimum standard and aim to far exceed them by testing our breeding stock to the highest level possible with the goal of proving their high end capabilities in the NAVHDA Invitational.

We train, test, and hunt our own dogs so we are intimately familiar with both their strengths and their deficiencies. Our dogs enjoy hunting trips in the northern Michigan grouse woods, southern Michigan wild pheasant fields, duck hunts on beaver ponds, lakes, streams, and marshes throughout the state, in addition to an occasional game farm. We have plans to begin exploring some out of state hunts to the prairies, mountains, and desert valleys to continue to evaluate their adaptability to differing terrain and species.

To ensure our breeding stock are passing on healthy traits, they are all genetically tested via Embark, screened for hip dysplasia through PennHip, and regularly evaluated by our reproductive veterinarian.

Puppy Buyer Info:

We screen buyers through an extensive application process then interview them through a phone or video call to discuss their expectations and to fully qualify them and determine if we have the correct pup for them. We don't keep a wait list or take deposits as we try to ensure we match the correct pup to the best possible home and hunting activity. We don't want money to become a factor so if you aren't happy with the puppy we selected for you on pickup day, we understand. There is no obligation nor hard feelings since in the end we want what's best for the pup. We won't produce a litter of pups that we aren't willing to keep ourselves. Just ask Melissa, she's always the one telling me "No, we can't keep another one"!

We hope and expect to be interviewed just as deeply to ensure a good fit and a lifelong trusting relationship is established, so ask away!

We treat our buyers as part of our family and try to stay in touch to support training or go hunting together.

What you get when you are selected to buy a Packmaster Pudelpointer:

Each puppy will go home having been developed using early neurological stimulation (AKA Superdog Training), early scent detection training to many different species of game, sound desensitization to at least a 209 primer gun, introduction to crate training and car rides, introduction to potty training, beginner clicker training to a number of different behaviors, microchipped, Embark DNA tested, vaccinated, dewormed, and registered with NAVHDA.

Puppies are taken on adventure walks daily through woods, thickets, fields of varying height and density, across streams, etc. Water exposure is guaranteed, but the form whether liquid or ice is dependent on time of year.

We begin puppy bite inhibition very early and many of our past buyers say despite their pups love for socks, underwear or shoes, they did not experience the puppy nipping that is all too common. Pups leave very well socialized by our family of 7, our friends, extended family, and pack of dogs.

We also provide all new puppy buyers with a complimentary NAPS membership, a 1 year individual NAVHDA international membership, 1 month of free Trupanion pet insurance and a comprehensive training and information guide as well as our personal support.

Our puppies are sold via a comprehensive contract that lays out the expectations for both parties.. The contract includes the requirements necessary to have the "breeding restrictions" lifted from the pup's NAVHDA registration at no charge. It also outlines our 2 year health guaranteed and the requirements necessary to qualify it to be extended to 5 years.
Lastly, Packmaster Gundogs has a NAVHDA testing loyalty program that is unmatched anywhere. Buyers have the ability to earn money off of a purchase of a future puppy dependent on the level of success obtained via NAVHDA testing their pup. Rewards extend up to and include a FREE puppy if the buyer earns a VC title.

Our History:

We got our first versatile dog in 2006, a GSP (Top Gun's Perfect Storm), joined the local NAVHDA group and began training for her NA. While training for her NA a guy in the group had a pudelpointer pup that was the same age and we fell in love with the breed. Fast forward 11 years later to 2017 Storm abruptly passed away in July from the rupture of a pancreatic tumor. We were blessed to get into a breeding from Ripsnorter's kennel shortly after and that October Frannie (Ripsnorter's Sent From Heaven) filled the gaping hole in our hearts and family. She turned out to be everything we had hoped for and more.

Our Pack:

Ripsnorter's Sent From Heaven (Frannie) is our current breeding female.
NAVHDA Pedigree
DOB: 8/17/2017
Weight: 58lbs
PennHip: Right: 0.31 Left: 0.26
Embark: Clear of any known genetic conditions
Genetic COI: 11%
Furnishings: FF
Coat: Brown, Tight, Medium dense, Medium Harsh
Frannie is from an exceptional litter that produced some outstanding dogs that have racked up quite the number of accomplishments in a variety of organizations. She scored a 112 Price I on her NA test but had a hiccup on her first attempt at the UT. We are working out the kinks and will be reattempting the UT in fall of 2023.

Ripsnorter's Call From Heaven (Echo)
NAVHDA Pedigree
DOB: 3/29/2020
Weight: 58lbs

PennHip: not screened
Embark: not tested
Genetic COI: not tested
Furnishings: not tested
Coat: Brown, Tight, Medium dense, Medium Harsh

Echo is a half brother to Frannie and couldn't be any more different. Echo has endless drive but lacks the cooperation, impulse control, retrieve drive, and other characteristics we require to be worthy of breeding stock. Echo is our son Tyler's best friend and is purely a hunting companion. We will work toward UT testing Echo sometime in the future.

Packmaster's Absolute Carbon Copy (Phin):

NAVHDA Pedigree
DOB: 10/6/2021
Weight: 72lbs
PennHip: Not screened yet
Embark: Clear of any known genetic conditions
Genetic COI: 26%
Furnishings: FF

Coat: Black, medium length, Medium dense, Medium harsh
Phin was our pick from our A-Litter in the fall of 2021. He has all of the amazing qualities of both his parents and is exactly what we were looking for with that pairing. He's an exceptionally strong, natural retriever with top notch cooperation, engagement, and impulse control. Phin possesses the goofiest personality that makes him an absolute treasure to live with. We expect big things from this guy in the future. Phin achieved a 108 Prize II on his NA test on a ridiculously windy day. We will be testing Phin in UT in Fall of 2023 at just under 2 years of age.

Flatlander's Just Pure Black Magic (Voodoo)

NAVHDA Pedigree
DOB: 4/30/2022
Weight: 53lbs
PennHip: Not screened yet
Embark: Clear of any known genetic conditions
Genetic COI: 18%
Furnishings: FF

Coat: Black, longer, flat laying, Moderately Dense, Medium harsh
Voodoo was purchased from Flatlanders kennel in June 2022. Voodoo possesses exceptional natural retrieve drive, boldness, engagement and cooperation and was pointing and retrieving grouse and woodcock during her first season at 6 months of age. We are confident Voodoo will do well in her NA test in June of 2023 after which we will begin her advanced training toward at UT test the following fall.

Scout is my first versatile dog and the first dog that I have ran in any testing. Scout is biddable, cooperative and was easy to train and quick to learn. He is very smart and retains what he learns and doesn’t seem to forget much when shown the proper way. He enjoys being around his friends and will want to play with other dogs of all sizes when allowed. He definitely wants to go, go, go, but when in the house he is ready to be in your lap or laying on a chair or couch.

Scout is a machine when it comes to field hunting. He loves to run and in large fields will make cast out to 200 or so yards. He typically starts with a far cast and gradually starts to hunt in closer as the hunt goes on. If he finds a bird while on a large cast, he will be waiting for you there. In his UT test and at the Invitational he was out of sight on a point for a while until we got up to him. For my first pointing dog it is odd to me as I was used to a flushing dog right out in front of me, but I have numerous judges, gunners and training partners that love his range. I’ve learned that it is ok and to trust the dog. He does not let me down and is honest on his birds. I typically tell the clients when I guide at a local preserve don’t be scared when they see him run out 200 yards like a rocket. Even if it takes us three minutes to walk to him, he isn’t going to take the bird out.

Scout has been hunted at several local preserves for pheasant and chukar and also does some guiding for pheasant, chukar and the occasional quail at one of the preserves. We hunt pheasant, woodcock and grouse on the gamelands and other private properties. When hunting for woodcock and grouse Scout will adjust his range for the job at hand.

Scout has retrieved numerous species of waterfowl to include puddle ducks, diving ducks, sea ducks and geese. He hunts mainly on the Susquehanna River as well as the Chesapeake Bay along with occasional pond hunts. He has made multiple mark retrieves in these locations and the cold January air and water temperatures do not phase him. He has hunted around ice on the river and bay and never hesitates when asked to make a retrieve. The only thing he probably can’t do that my 100 lb. Chesapeake Bay Retriever could do was to break through thicker ice.

Scout’s sire, Pine Ridge's Jazzy Rigel is a sire with 7 Sire of Breeder's Award for NA. On his dam side he has VC Fin Renard Donna Kenya (grandparent) and VC Bella Vom Graven Stein (great grandparent). I’ve been told by numerous people that Scout has the looks and the pedigree to pass on good traits and to help improve the breed.

About Lorax

Lorax is an even-tempered and efficient hunter. His best traits are his cooperation and trainability. Lorax has proven his hunting ability with furred and feathered game to include quail, duck, woodcock, squirrel, rabbit, dove, and white-tailed deer. He achieved his UT prize 2 at the young age of 2 years old with a first-time trainer. Lorax is a medium ranging dog with the determination, drive, and endurance to do long hunts. He is also a perfect family companion, able to connect with people, is gentle with children, and displays high emotional intelligence. Lorax has been a family dog since day 1 and we can’t imagine living without him. I am more than excited to watch Lorax’s bloodline continue and make Pudelpointers the best versatile breed they can be.

Ripsnorter Kennels- Puppies Due February 2024
Owner Name
Jeffrey George
Location
Utica, OH
Kennel Description

Websters definition of Ripsnorter is "One that is remarkable for strength, intensity, and/or excellence". Jeff George has been a proud breeder of Pudelpointers since 2007, and has even more experience with other breeds before this. While he used to raise specifically German Wirehaired Pointers under the Ripsnorter prefix, he branched out to the more versatile side of them and fell in love with his first Pudelpointer, Okra.

Jeff has tested many dogs in NAVHDA through the years in the Natural Ability, Utility, and Versatile Champion test, many receiving Prize I ranking scores. He has brought his love for hunting to his grandchildren as well, who have both tested dogs in NAVHDA, and his grandaughter, Hadley, is now helping to take over the legacy of Ripsnorter Kennel. We are members of and proud approved breeders of the North American Pudelpointer Society, as it is the most dignified and prestigious system for top quality Pudelpointers and their according breeders.

Smokn’ Creek Pudelpointers- Litters Planned Late Summer 2024
Owner Name
Roger Sells
Location
Russell, Kansas
Kennel Description

Smokn’ Creek Pudelpointers is located smack dab in the middle of the United States. We are seven and a half miles southwest of Russell, Kansas. Our kennel is in a location that has access to numerous acres of hunting and training land for both upland and waterfowl.

Our goal is to provide families with lifetime hunting partners. We strive to do our part in keeping the integrity of the breed and to assure those who purchase our pups will have a family member for the lifetime of the dog.

Pup information

Our puppies are whelped in the house and the pups will have supervision throughout the 8 weeks at our kennel. Our puppies will go through the Biosensor program on days 3-16. They will go on car rides to the vet, experience many different outside surroundings. They will be handled by family members throughout their 8 weeks.
They will be introduced to birds and water (weather permitting) at 6 weeks. At 7-8 weeks we start placing them in crates and begin the potty-training process. We start the deworming process at 2 weeks and at around 8 weeks will have a health check by our vet and their first round of vaccinations before we send them home. We will also have the puppies registered with NAVHDA and the buyer will receive the pup’s pedigree in the mail. The buyers will get a puppy packet that includes a vaccination schedule, feeding information, Smokn’ Creek swag. A year’s membership with NAPS and NAVHDA will be included in the packet. We will do our best to expose the pups to many different things throughout their first 8 weeks with a goal to have a healthy confident pup when they are ready to go home.

  • NA 112 Prize 1
  • UT 202 Prize 1
  • IT 187 Pass
  • Hips HD Free
  • Furnishings DNA: FF

Bear has turned out to be everything we could hope for. He is a very biddable dog. His desire to hunt is outstanding and his nose is unbelievable. He is a joy to train and hunt behind. We have become a great team and once he is out of the box it is all business. Bear is a perfect gentleman in the house and his accomplishments speak for themselves passing the Invitational on his first attempt.

Rock Creek North Forty “Zeke” (Offered for Stud, frozen only)

  • PP-005868
  • NA 112 Prize 1
  • UT 198 Prize 1
  • Hips HD Free
  • 62 Lbs

Zeke will put a smile on your face as you watch him attack a field when it comes time to train or hunt. His desire and drive are about as high as it gets. After seeing him in the field you would never think he could shut that off in the house, but he does. It’s amazing!

Zeke will receive a Sire’s of Breeder’s Award in his first breeding from the summer of 2022. We plan to breed him to Smokn’ Creek Cleopatra in 2025.

Zeke has qualified for the 2024 Invitational, and we plan on running him in Iowa.

Current Breeding Dams

Rock Creek Irma “Rain”

  • PP-005731
  • NA 106 Prize 3
  • Hips HD Free
  • 48 Lbs

Rain had her first litter in the summer of 2022 and whelped 5 pups. Two of those pups were tested and both received NA 112 Prize 1

Rain is a sweetheart. She has the desire and drive like Zeke. She loves to hunt and would like to all day long if you would let her. She is an awesome mom and is great in the house.

Smokn’ Creek Cleopatra “Cleo” is a Bear/Rain pup

  • PP-008395
  • NA 112 Prize 1
  • Pennhip HD Free
  • She will probably end up in the low 50 lbs. range

Cleo has shown promising signs so far. Her desire, drive and biddability is like her sire (Bear). She is the first pup that I have seen that didn’t have to do the tracking section in the NA test because she showed the judges her ability to track in the field when she tracked 3 quail 40 yards and then went on point. I was a proud papa.

Smokn’ Creek Benelli “Nelli” is a Zeke/Aspen pup

  • PP-008386
  • NA 110 Prize 1
  • Pennhip HD Free
  • She will be around the low 50 lbs. range.

Nelli and her litter mates will receive a Breeder’s Award Litter NA

We plan to breed her to Bear the summer 2024

Nelli has also impressed us with her desire and drive. She has been to Iowa and South Dakota hunting pheasants and is turning out to be a great addition to our kennel.

Smokn' Creek Blaire (Daisy)

  • PP-008393
  • NA 110 Prize 1
  • Pennhip HD Free

Live Cover or AI, To Approved Females

As an amateur trainer and handler, I have been ever amazed at Rikko's biddability, natural talent, and mental flexibility.  He just wants to work and wants to please. Since bringing Rikko home, I have been consistently awed by his smarts (see gears turning), his tenaciousness in the field and water, and his willingness to work as a team to pursue multiple wild bird species across the states. Rikko has successfully learned to hunt Kentucky Bob’s and doodles, to South Dakota pheasants/sharpies/chickens, to Arizona mearns/scalies/gambels, to California waterfowl and mountain quail. Rikko has shown himself to be a quick student and adapts quickly to any species and landscape we've encountered.

I have also been extremely impressed with Rikko’s cool, calm, and collected nature that garners many compliments at training days and the duck blind; however, when released into a field or water, he becomes a proficient bird finding machine that doesn’t know the word “quit” and mark’s his birds with great accuracy. This complete package of cooperation, grit, and intelligence has made developing Rikko into a first-class wild bird gundog possible for a rookie trainer/handler, like me.

This has also been further shown in our teamwork to achieve max hunt test scores in both NAVHDA's Natural Ability (112 P1), and twice in Utility (204 P1, both times). Rikko has also proven himself in the dog trial arena, competing in braces in NSTRA against pointers, setters, brittanys and GSPs to obtain both Amateur and Open champion designations.  He has shown he can respect other dogs in the field, stand his birds with no creeping, and focus on the task at hand. Most recently, we took Runner Up Champion at the 2023 SoCal Regional Elimination trial.

Rikko has more than surpassed my expectations of hunting/home companion and I look forward to many more seasons of upland and marshland adventures with this! If you are looking for more cooperation and excellent mark/retrieving in your lines, he's your stud.
